“AmericasMart has long served as a crossroads of commerce,” noted Jeffrey L. Portman, Sr. “This joining of the incredibly powerful talents and resources present in both organizations will sustain and advance that role for the ultimate benefit of the customers we jointly serve.”

The late John Portman, Atlanta architect and developer, founded AmericasMart in the 1960s as part of the 14-block Peachtree Center complex, which includes retail, office buildings and hotels in addition to the three market buildings. Portman’s properties were instrumental in making Atlanta a convention destination.

IMC has recently committed to building an additional 350,000 square feet in Las Vegas and acquiring/constructing two new buildings in High Point.

The transition is expected to close in the third quarter of 2018.
